I think she will ignore the feeling she feels for him because after all he is her Mistress’s lover. I also think she will also try to ignore those feelings because if her mistress figured out that she secretly love Hideo she would not be happy with her. Not only happy but she would probably end up send Takiko back to her parents house and I’m sure that’s not something Takiko wants. After all Takiko gets to live a very luxurious life in the Imperial Court.

I feel that it will be difficult for Takiko to deal with her feelings towards Hideo despite knowing that he is her mistress’s lover. I say this because in the book, the author describes that Takiko is fighting her constantly growing feelings for Hideo, and trying to convince herself that what she is feeling is wrong. Another point is that Takiko respects and is trusted by her mistress, giving her more special treatment from her mistress. Takiko wouldn’t want to loss this trust by confronting her feelings and upsetting her mistress because of a man she barley knew.
